Prevention is key - Why nto underestimate a regular dental check-up

Maybe you're not in pain, maybe you feel like everything is fine. But that's why it is important to come in for regular dental check-up. Because pain is often the last warning.

Regular preventive dental check-ups are oné of the most effective ways to maintain healthy teeth throughout your life. It's quick, it doesn't hurt - and it can save you not only pain, but even money.

What can you expect during a preventive check-up?

  • Assessment of the overall condition of the teeth - the doctor will check the teeth, fillings, crowns, implants and the condition of the gums.

  • X-rays or 3D scans - they help to detect even what is not visible to the naked eye (e.g. starting decay between the teeth or inflammation under the crown).

  • Soft tissue examination - the check-up includes examination of the tongue, cheeks and other structures of the oral cavity for possible changes.

  • Recommentation of further care - if necessary, the doctor will suggest further action: dental hygiene, tooth repair or just remind the correct cleaning techniques.

How often for prevention?

For adults, we recommend 1 time every six months.
For children and pregnant women, the insurance company can cover check-ups even 2 times a year.
Patients with higher risks (e.g. periodontitis, implants, orthodontic treatment) may need more frequent check-up

Why is prevention so importatnt?

  • Catch problems early. A small cavity is treatment without pain before it turns into a big problem.

  • Protects gums and bone. Inflammation or peri-implantitis is often symptomless for a long time.

  • Helps you save a money. Prevention is always cheaper than treatment.

  • It increases the chance of saving the tooth. The sooner the problem is caught, the better the chances of keeping the tooth.
